FAQ

Frequently asked questions about InventX accounts, plans, billing and features.

Answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, email support@inventx.app; for billing and sales, email hello@pos.inventx.app.

General

What is InventX?

InventX is a cloud-based point-of-sale and inventory platform for retail businesses. You run the register, track stock across locations, manage suppliers and customers, and review reports and an activity log from any device with a browser.

Can I see it before I sign up?

Yes. Book a demo for a 45-minute walkthrough over Microsoft Teams, or start a free trial and try it yourself.

Accounts and trial

How do I get an account?

Create a business at pos.inventx.app/user/signup. If your business already uses InventX, ask your administrator for an invite token instead. Both routes are described in Create an Account.

Is there a free trial?

Every new business starts with a 14-day Pro trial: every feature is unlocked and no card is required. A welcome email confirms the end date, and a banner in the app shows how many days are left.

What happens when the trial ends?

Nothing is charged. The app shows a Your Pro trial has ended screen where an administrator can pick a plan; other users are asked to contact their administrator. Your data is kept. See When the trial ends.

Do I need a card to start?

No. You only add a card when you subscribe to a plan. If you arrive at signup from the pricing page with a plan pre-selected, you are taken to the checkout right after creating the account, but the trial still applies until the payment completes.

Plans and pricing

What do the plans cost?

Starter is $8.99 per month, or $6.99 per month billed annually ($83.88 a year). Pro is $24.99 per month, or $19.99 per month billed annually ($239.88 a year). Pro includes 5 users; extra users are $2.50 per user per month ($2.00 on annual billing). Sri Lankan businesses are billed in rupees instead; see Plans and Pricing. Enterprise is priced individually. Full details are in Plans and Pricing.

What are the plan limits?

Starter: 1 location, 2 users, 100 items. Pro: up to 5 locations, 5 users plus any extra users you buy, unlimited items. When you hit a limit the app refuses to add more and tells you why.

Which features are limited by plan?

Very few. Every plan includes the register, barcode scanning, email receipts, live invoice links, suppliers, reports, the activity log and role-based access. Inter-store transfers need more than one location, which means Pro or Enterprise.

Why do I see prices in LKR on the pricing page?

Visitors from Sri Lanka see an indicative LKR conversion for reference. Plans are priced and charged in US dollars.

Billing

Who charges my card?

Payments are processed by Creem, our payment partner and merchant of record. Creem's name may appear on your statement.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Cards, entered on the secure checkout page. InventX never sees or stores your card details. You can update the card later from Manage billing on the Subscription page.

Can I switch plans or change how often I am billed?

Yes. From the Subscription page, click Change plan and choose the other plan or billing interval. Changes take effect immediately and are prorated. Moving to Starter requires your business to fit within Starter's limits.

How do I cancel?

Open the Subscription page and click Manage billing, then cancel in the customer portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, after which the plan-choice screen returns. Your data is not deleted. See Cancel.

Where do I find invoices and receipts?

In the customer portal, via Manage billing on the Subscription page.

My subscription says "Managed by InventX". What does that mean?

Your business is invoiced directly by InventX rather than through the app, so the plan picker does not apply to you. Email hello@pos.inventx.app to change anything about your agreement.

Users and security

How do I add staff?

Click the Profile Icon → Manage Users, reveal a free seat and share its token or invite link. Each token registers one user. The number of seats depends on your plan; on Pro you can buy more from the Subscription page.

Can two people use the same login?

No. Only one device can be signed in to an account at a time — signing in elsewhere signs the first device out. See Account Security. Give each staff member their own account instead.
